Asbestos testing refers to identifying whether a material contains asbestos or not. For common building materials, this test is usually peformed with Polarized Light Microscopy, or PLM for short.

It is pretty simple for the average homeowner to send a material off for asbestos testing when they just want to know if asbestos is present or not.
