Asbestos Law and Asbestos Rules and Regulations
There are various legal issues associated with asbestos. One aspect of asbestos law is the rules and regulations designed to prevent asbestos exposure, and the other is the civil litigation relating to mesothelioma and asbestos exposure lawsuits.
The asbestos rules and regulations in the US primarily come from the EPA and OSHA. Workers are protected by OSHA regulations, and the general public and school children are protected by EPA regulations.
EPA’s NESHAPs is the regulation most likely to be in effect for the majority of people, though this asbestos regulation is often ignored. It contains rules that apply to all remodeling and demolition activities performed in public buildings and apartments.
